PPK-2U fire damper consists of a circular cross-section body (the body is perforated along the perimeter), a movable insulating shutter, two return springs and a locking mechanism with a response element. The damper body and its components are made of galvanized sheet steel.
The body is made in a nipple design. The damper can be connected to the components of the air duct network with a nipple joint.
A gasket made of thermally expandable material is fixed around the closed shutter on the inner surface of the body. The feature of this gasket is that, under the influence of high temperatures, it expands in volume and completely fills all leaks between the shutter and the body.
The insulating shutter of the damper is made of 24 mm thick fire-proof plate. PPK-2U damper is equipped with a spring mechanism consisting of two actuation springs and a fuse with rated activation temperature of 72 °C.
If the damper opens, the springs are twisted (tightened). The shutter is kept open by cutout fuse. A damaged fuse will automatically rotate the insulating shutter (to the closed position) as a result of the decompression of the drive springs. Damper movement is limited by stops installed inside the body. During normal operation, the shutter of the PPK-2U damper is in the open position. In case of fire, the shutter moves to the fully closed position. PPK-2U dampers have the following dimensions: inner diameter is 100, 125, 160, 200 and 250 mm.
The length of PPK-2U dampers is L = 200 mm.
The dampers can also be equipped with additional limit switches indicating the open or closed position of the shutter. In a special design, resistant to aggressive environments, all steel parts are made of acid-resistant steel, the shutter is treated with an insoluble substance that is used to impregnate fireproof plates.
